EDC LV 2024 | Was VIP Worth It?

My husband and I have been going to raves since the late nineties, so we know what we need at these types of festivals and what we don’t. And because we are a little older now, we require a bit more than we used to when we were kids. VIP isn’t just an option; it’s a must—always—for every show, festival, or whatever it may be. We’ve been doing VIP for over 15+ years and have much to compare to EDC LV 2024’s VIP.

For reference, we’ve been to many EDCs (in LA and LV). This is the first Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas we have attended since 2015, and it seems a lot has changed. 2024 was bigger than 2015 (a whopping 520,000 estimated to be in attendance this year), and they seemed to pack more entertainment into the speedway. It was WILD. WILD! The stages we returned to and from the most were Kinetic, Cosmic Meadows, Circuit Grounds, Quantum Valley, and Rynobus (I’ve included the map so you can get an idea of things). We bought 3-day VIP tickets for EDC LV 2024 at early bird pricing ($929.89 with fees per ticket) as EDC ended last year. The two most important things for us in VIP were that there would be air-conditioned bathrooms and a place to chill from the ginormous crowd (aka seating!).

And now, it's time to assess. WAS EDC Las Vegas VIP WORTH IT?

First, let’s break down what we loved and didn’t love so much…

For us, VIP isn’t just an option; it’s a must—always—for every show, festival, or whatever it may be.

WHAT WE DIDN’T LOVE so much ABOUT EDC LV VIP:

  • THE VIP SECTIONS WERE MASSIVE! When we arrived, we thought it was cool, but then quickly realized Insomniac sold so many VIP tickets—it felt like 1/3 of the festival goers (headliners) were VIP.

  • LONG LINES TO BATHROOMS, NO MATTER THE SET TIMES. This happened mostly from about 10 PM - 2 AM - when it was peak time at the festival. Just constant lines during that time

  • MICRO “CHILL ZONES”. I’m talking super small seating areas with 5 - 10 cocktail tables (max 4 chairs each) in each VIP seating area. We expected way more tables and chairs for the amount of VIP tickets sold. Definitely disproportionate compared to any other VIP we’ve done in our lives. THERE WAS VERY LITTLE CHILL, basically. However, we did find a cool area called BAMBOO DNA (by Cosmic Meadow), lined with grass, which cooled the temperature down tremendously - it was not in VIP but the only place that felt the most CHILL to us

  • LONG LINES TO GET IN VIP, especially before a major set. Waiting to enter Kinetic VIP got so scary at times with the number of people wanting to scan in that I told the Hubs that we had to leave and come back later. Even tho there were guardrails to protect each line - it was moving so slowly that we didn’t want to wait and find out if something bad happened. (Note: We both almost got crushed once while attending an oversold Yellow Claw show in Daytona, FL, and now we are hyper-aware of potential overcrowding/stampede situations)

  • NO VIP BATHROOMS AT COSMIC MEADOW was a pain because we were over there A LOT

  • IT WAS CROWDED. Usually, when you pay for VIP at festivals, you know you will get breathing room and a place to chill during the festival. Not so much in this VIP. VIP areas were pretty crowded most of the night. We could find an open seat within a couple of minutes (if someone moved), but if it was during the peak time (10 PM to 2 AM) or on Sunday night - it took longer. I will say tho, there were a lot of nice people out there sharing tables - THANK YOU!

WHAT WE LOVED ABOUT EDC LV VIP:

  • WATER STATIONS were plentiful and didn’t have long wait times. It was amazing

  • DRINK LINES WERE SUPER SHORT, and we could get a drink anytime, anywhere in VIP

  • OUR LOCKER IN CIRCUIT GROUNDS WAS AMAZING, and we never had any crowds. Everyone was respectful in there

  • FOOD OPTIONS WERE GOOD. The Tots place in Kinetic VIP was chefs kiss!!! Also, the Aqua Fresca and Dippin’ Dots were awesome there as well

  • AIRCONDITIONED BATHROOMS. Although there were also portopotties, I refused to use them because, honestly, the air-conditioned bathrooms were the main reason we bought VIP tickets in the first place. Also, we loved that on Saturday night, Insomniac had staff in the bathrooms cleaning and helping lines move faster

  • HOW CLOSE WE WERE TO THE FIREWORKS from Kinetic to Circuit Grounds VIP. We were pretty much right under them, which was super cool

  • The WIFI in Circuit Grounds was helpful when we needed to send a message, but it was not strong enough to do more than send a text

  • We loved the FUN ACTIVITIES, such as making kandi bracelets, trading trinkets, and exploring the water maze room. They were super fun!

  • SEPARATE MERCH TENT in Kinetic VIP was great because the lines were super long outside of VIP

  • BARBER SHOP AND BEAUTY TENTS for those who didn’t know what to do with their hair or makeup—it’s cool to know that Insomniac has this option

  • BREAKFAST AT 4 AM IN KINETIC was cool, but you had to wait in line before that. When we arrived at 4, the line was already 3-4 rails deep

  • VIP CONCIERGE kept stocking us up with cool little things (bubbles, fans, trinkets, etc.) and candy that made it more enjoyable. CIRCUIT GROUNDS definitely had the shortest line (compared to Kinetic)

  • The VIP TICKET/BRACELET COMMEMORATIVE BOX was beautiful and really cool to look at—it definitely hyped us up for the event. Ours had a keychain, a small zip pouch, stickers, and playing cards. See the images below

After going through all the loves and love nots, WE FEEL THE EDC LV 2024 VIP WAS WORTH THE PRICE WE PAID. We got what we were hoping for most: air-conditioned bathrooms and seats most of the time. The water stations, food options, and concierge made things better. Although it was more packed than any other VIP we have ever experienced, it still felt like a mini escape from everyone at one of the largest festivals in the world. Just a mini one, tho.

We filled out the survey for Insomniac, letting them know these things and hoping for improvements for next year. We would love to see a VIP+ for those who want more chill space and amenities. Life is Beautiful Festival did a great job with that - so maybe they can hire someone from that team?

As far as next year, we’re considering going for only one day to see how things go. But one thing is for sure: it’s going to be VIP, baby!

Did you go this year? If so, what do you think? Also, will you be going next year?
