A Well Organized Workout Area

One of my absolute favorite things to do during Covid is to organize!

I was definitely that kid that wanted everything to have a home, be labeled and in its perfect space. And even though we didn’t have a label-maker when I was a kid, I remember using plain construction paper and tape to make my own labels. Growing up, my family always loved my little room because it was so neatly organized. They’d show it off when people came over. It was cute.

But somehow along the way adulthood happened and I was far too busy to give everything a home or put it back in its place. Little annoying piles started to set in. I didn’t have as much time to organize everything as I did when I was a child.

And then Covid happened.

Like many others, I found myself working from home and spending more time there. And because of that, I want things to be beautiful and pleasing to the eye. I want to declutter and give my mind some peace. So I’ve been able to really focus on all the annoying spots throughout the house and make them bring me joy!

One of these spots is my workout corner. Since I no longer workout at a gym, this is an important area for me. Here is what it looked like BEFORE:

It was a hot mess of a pile and always took me a while to search through it before finding what I needed. Obviously, one basket was not enough for yoga, skate, and jump rope stuff. So I looked to The Home Edit and The Container Store for inspiration. I love their IG posts. They ultimately helped me organize this craziness.

After Workout Space

Ahhhhhhh, all pretty and organized!

I like that the mesh is easy to sanitize and wipe down in case my equipment gets dirty. And I love that the bin holding my yoga mat has wheels because I can easily roll it out from under the counter and grab my yoga mat. My only wish is that these bins came in white!

The medium-sized Stackable Mesh Bins and the Handy Rolling Bin are from The Container Store. I ordered them online and had them delivered. The stackable bins came perfectly but the rolling one was a little crunched in transit - so I recommend you get the rolling one in-store vs delivery if you can. I did an exchange and went during the middle of the week, early in the morning to avoid any crowds. BTW I LOVE the way The Container Store sanitizes between transactions - it makes me feel more safe!

That’s the scoop on one of my organization projects. I LOVE HOW IT CAME OUT and it’s been fun using it for all my workouts. This set-up has definitely inspired me to workout more.

Let me know if you liked this post or have any questions by commenting below. As this type of post is a first for me, so it will be interesting to see what kind of information you guys are looking for. And I’ll do my best to incorporate feedback for next time. Currently, I am working on my beauty makeup room (it’s a beast!) … so stay tuned!

XOXO, T

NOTE: all bins were purchased by me with my own money, honey! The Container Store did not sponsor this post. All opinions are my own.
