RED ROCK CANYON | Las Vegas

Many people think that Las Vegas is a giant desert with nothing to see, but we do have some pretty cool parks. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is one of them.

Our trip out there did not disappoint. It had been after a little bit of rain, and everything looked pretty and green. It was our first time back since moving to Vegas, and we noticed that this park had made many improvements over the last 15 years. These are the pictures I took on this trip. I wish I had more of the red rock area, but on that day, many people were climbing, hiking, and moving around them. So these images are from the part of the park that people travel less.

WHAT I LOVE:

  • it’s quiet. Really quiet. Definitely a place to help you meditate or regroup

  • there are hiking paths or places to park and chill

  • the 13-mile scenic driving road through the park was absolutely beautiful!

  • fairly close to the city, so the drive there isn’t very far (20 minutes drive from the strip)

You can drive, bike, walk, run, or climb at this park, which has scenic spots mapped out so you can see some beautiful moments. I highly recommend it when visiting Las Vegas if you have the time and the car to do so.

We plan on going back as we got a season pass. However, one thing to know about Red Rock Canyon is that you must make a timed reservation if you plan to do the scenic drive.

I do have some videos of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area - I’ll see if I can make a reel and post it here, stay tuned!

Remember to make rezzies before you drive up there!
